Here are some frequently asked questions here at Carson's Nurseries.
Hopefully this helps!

Call (417)882-5200 if you have any further questions.

Where should I seek out plant and tree information?

We recommend to keep in mind that information and articles online may not be applicable to the Missouri region. You may unknowingly be reading an article by someone from Utah, whose planting techniques, and information will be very different based on their climate. This in worst cases could lead to the loss of the plant or tree.

We are more than happy to help! Our staff are very aware of what works and what does not, based on our climate. You can call (417)882-5200 with you questions or go to our contact us page to direct your email to the proper team member.

Don't see the plant or tree you are looking for on our website?

Just because you do not see what you are looking for does not mean that we do not have it! The inventory on our website is only the most popular trees and plants in our inventory and does not showcase everything we sell.

Some plants and trees are seasonal inventory or may be limited in stock, so it is always best to call our main retail location at (417)882-5200 if you do not see what you are looking for.

The Greenhouse operates in the same way, so for accurate inventory, please call (417)844-0901 for inventory questions.

I am buying a dogwood, where should I plant it?

Dogwood trees are best to not be planted in direct sunlight. Direct afternoon sun can cause harm to their root system.

Dogwoods thrive best when in morning sun with afternoon shade.

What plant or tree blooms all year long?

There are no trees or plants that will bloom through all four seasons. Certain plants and varieties have the potential of blooming two or even three times in one year, but none retain flowers all year long.

Do I need to water my plant or tree, and how often should I do so?

Yes, you should absolutely be watering your plants and trees after planting. Please refer to our watering guide to see how you should be watering your new plantings.

What should I bring to the nursery when picking out my tree or plant?

To help our retail associates help you to the best of their ability they will need some additional information.

1.) Pictures of your planting location

2.) Measurements of the planting location

3.) Know how much sun the planting location receives throughout the day
